The Nigeria Ministry of Education has announced that exit classes in Secondary schools across the nation will reopen for academic activities on August 4.

The Nigeria Ministry of Education has announced the approved resumption date for all exit classes in Secondary schools across the nation. A statement released on the mid hours of today showed that the approved resumption date for all academic activities is August 4th.

The statement which was released this afternoon July 27, by the Director of Press, Ministry of Education, Ben Ben Goong, says that all students in exit classes are to resume on the 4th of August just immediately after the Salah break so they can have some time to prepare before the WAEC examinations begin on the 17th .

Goong said the decision was unanimously agreed upon during a virtual consultative meeting of the Federal Ministry of Education, Commissioners of Education in the 36 states, the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Proprietors of Private schools, and Chief Executive of Examination bodies.

It should be recalled that the Federal Government had earlier suspended the re-opening of schools due to the high number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country.
